We had an awesome night last Thursday evening in River Market when we participated in “Fashion Honors Autism.” It was a fashion show complete with a glamorous red carpet. The Mitsu Sato Hair Academy did all the hair and makeup for the participants and runway models. But these little models weren’t your typical kids: All 5 models had Autism.
The kids went through classes and training for three weeks before their big modeling debuts and everyone who attended the event knew they were seeing something so much more than just a fashion show!
Mandi Brown, whose son Paxton was one of the models and was diagnosed with Autism at age 2, said, “This is helping him very much develop mentally. It’s helping him socialize with other kids and adults. It’s getting him into a new environment. It’s so much more to him than just a show, this is a fun event for him.”
Miss Kansas Kendall Schoenekase was the host for the evening and our stylists couldn’t have been prouder to be a part of such an amazing event! Thank you to everyone at Fashion Honors Autism! We were honored to be a part of such a wonderful experience!
