The Process at Mitsu Sato Hair Academy
Ready to start the enrollment process? It’s an exciting step in pursuing a career in the beauty industry. Our enrollment process gives you a clear understanding of our programs and helps you make an informed decision about applying for our school. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Schedule a tour. All prospective students must take a tour of our school in Overland Park. The tour will include a brief interview with our Admissions Department, allowing us to learn more about your aspirations, answer any questions, and offer you a first-hand look at our facility.
- Gather your paperwork. After your tour and interview, you’ll need to fill out and submit a completed application form and all of the required documentation. Our admissions team can help guide you through this process and will provide you with a complete list of documentation we’ll need.
- Turn in your paperwork and wait for a decision. Once you complete the admissions paperwork, submit it and your documentation to our team. We will notify you of our admission decision. If accepted, our team will guide you through the next steps in the enrollment process.
- Enroll and register for your course. You must sign a contract and pay a registration fee to secure your place in one of our courses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mitsu Sato Hair Academy may or may not accept transfer hours obtained from other institutions. The acceptance of transfer hours will be at the discretion of the institution and the Kansas Board of Cosmetology. We evaluate transfer requests case-by-case, considering factors such as the curriculum and hours completed at the previous school.

Admission Requirements
To enroll in courses at Mitsu Sato Hair Academy, students must:
- Be at least 17 years of age or older.
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Provide a state-issued ID along with a copy of their birth certificate.
Students pursuing their cosmetology instructor training must provide a copy of their current state license.

Cosmetology
From hair cutting and styling to coloring and chemical treatments, you can learn it all. And with our focus on skincare, eyelash extensions, and nail services, you'll be well-rounded and ready to take on any client. This program includes certification in MUD Make-up and Bella Lash Extension Training.
Esthetics

Our nail technology program coming soon to our Overland Park campus is designed to give you the skills you need to create stunning nail designs and provide exceptional nail care. You can learn everything from manicures and pedicures to artificial nails and nail art. You could even be prepared to start your own business or work in a salon!
MUD Make-up
If you're passionate about makeup artistry, our MUD make-up courses are an amazing way to build your skills and portfolio. You can learn from industry experts and gain hands-on experience with our professional makeup kits. This course includes instruction on business management and marketing to help you build a book of business in the competitive world of makeup artistry.
